Mission, Vision and Values
The Grange Primary School

Our mission is to give every child, every chance, every day.

At The Grange Primary School, we pride ourselves on an ethos and culture built on firm foundations of trust and positive relationships; relationships that are built, nurtured and restored between all members of the school community. Such relationships enable everyone, including parents, staff, the governing body and wider professionals, to work together to put each individual child at the centre of all that we do. Together, we continually support children to overcome adversity, improve and aim even higher, enabling them to realise their potential and succeed in an ever evolving world.

To provide our children with values that will serve them from their early years through to adulthood, we teach our children to be:

  • Respectful
    We celebrate diversity and expect that all adults and pupils within the school community are mutually respectful of one another. We are respectful of the environment: we understand the impact we have and how we can contribute to and preserve the local area; we understand environmental challenges facing society, and consider risks to global sustainability.
  • Resilient
    We model and teach strategies to build resilience. This helps pupils to cope with challenges, maintain a positive attitude and persevere through setbacks, ultimately improving their chances of future success and achievement.
  • Reflective
    Being reflective is a key aspect of emotional intelligence – it is a skill required to support both wellbeing and working with others. Reflection offers a defined process of thinking things through and identifying solutions to problems, ways to improve and enables change and progress to be made.

To enable our pupils to thrive, aspire and achieve, at The Grange Primary School we strive to provide:

  • high quality teaching which excites and motivates all children;
  • engaging opportunities to enrich the curriculum and promote wellbeing, offering wide ranging, memorable experiences to children;
  • networks of professionals and highly trained staff with expertise to tailor learning to individual needs, to support and remove barriers, to challenge and enable all children to succeed and achieve;
  • an environment rooted in positive behaviour and attitudes, nurturing and supporting all pupils, empowering them to have responsibility, feel proud and thrive;
  • the very best foundations for both academic learning and personal development for every pupil; teaching them respect, tolerance and individual liberty;
  • safety and a sense of belonging and community, based on mutually agreed rules, expectations and positive relationships.
